On this page you Forget about the times Forget about the mistakes Forget about the misfortunes Forget about the days when Forget about the plans Do whatever you can to make them a reality Don't dwell on past mistakes... Do realize you can't change the past, Don't try to accomplish everything at once... Do travel one step at a time... That's the way to find out Don't be afraid to do the impossible... Do remember that history is filled Don't forget that there are so many And... Quit, Give up! You're beaten! They shout at me and plead. And as I start to hang my head in front of failure's face, And hope fills my weakened will, as I recall that scene A children's race -- young boys, young girls. They all lined up so full of hope; each thought to win that race, And every parent watched, cheering for their daughters and their sons, The whistle blew and off they went, young hearts and hopes afire. And one boy in particular whose dad was in the crowd, But as they speeded down the field, across a shallow dip, And trying hard to catch himself, his hands flew out to brace, So down he fell and with him hope, he couldn't win it now, But as he fell his dad stood up and showed his anxious face, He quickly rose, no damage done, behind a bit, that's all, So anxious to restore himself -- to catch up and to win, He wished that he had quit before with only one disgrace, But in the laughing crowd, he searched and found his father's face, So up he jumped to try again, ten yards behind the last. Exerting everything he had, he regained eight or ten, Defeat! He lay there silently, a tear dropped from his eye. The will to rise had disappeared, all hope had fled away. "I've lost, so what's the use?" he thought, Get up, an echo sounded, get up and take your place. With borrowed will, Get up, it said, You haven't lost at all. So up he rose to run once more, and with a new commit, So far behind the others now, the most he'd ever been. Three times he'd fallen, stumbling: Three time he rose again. They cheered the winning runner as she crossed the line in first place. But when the fallen youngster crossed the line in last place, And even though he came in last with head bowed low, unproud, And to his dad he sadly said, "I didn't do so well." And now when things seem dark and hard and difficult to face, For life is like that race with ups and down and all, "Quit, give up, you're beaten," they will always shout in your face. -- author unknown

ALWAYS HAVE A DREAM
Forget about the days
when it's been cloudy,
but don't forget your hours in the sun.
you've been defeated,
but don't forget the victories you've won.
that you can't change now,
but don't forget the lessons.
you've encountered,
but don't forget the times
your luck has turned.
you've been lonely,
but don't forget the
friendly smiles you've seen...
that didn't seem to work out right,
but don't forget to always have a dream.
Don't ever stop dreaming your dreams...
they're a very essential part of you.
by the course you take...
The plans you make...
and all the things you do.
leave yesterday behind you...
Along with any of its problems,
worries and doubts.
but just ahead is the future...
And you can do something about that.
life can be difficult enough...
Without adding frustration to the list.
and reach for one goal at a time.
what real accomplishment is.
even if others don't think you'll succeed.
with incredible accomplishments...
Of those who were foolish enough to...believe.
things that are wonderful...
Rare and unique about you.
Do remember that if you can search
within and find a smile...
That smile will always be
a reflection of the way people feel....
About you!
THE RACE
There's just too much against you now, this time you can't succeed.
My downward fall is broken by the memory of a race.
For just the thought of that short race rejuvenates my being.
How I remember so well.
Or tie for first, or if not that, at least tie for second place.
And every kid hoped to show their mom and dad, that they would be the one.
To win and be the hero was each kid's desire.
Was running near the lead and thought, my dad will be so proud.
The little boy who thought to win, lost his step and slipped.
Mid the laughter of the crowd he fell right upon his face.
Embarrassed, sad, if he could only disappear somehow.
Which to the boy so clearly said, "Get up and win the race."
And ran with all his mind and might to make up for his fall.
His mind went faster than his legs -- and he slipped and fell again.
"Im hopeless as a runner now, I shouldn't try to race."
That steady look which said again, "Get up and win the race."
"If I'm going to gain those yards," he thought, "I've got to move real fast."
But trying so hard to catch the lead he slipped and fell again.
"There's no sense running any more. Three strikes, I'm out.
Why should I
even try?
So far behind, so error prone, a loser all the way.
"I'll live with my disgrace."
But then he thought about his dad whom soon he'd have to face.
You were not meant for failure here, Get up and win the race.
For winning is no more than this: To rise each time you fall.
He resolved that win or lose at least he wouldn't quit.
Still he gave it all he had and ran as though to win.
Too far behind to hope to win, he still ran his best to the end.
Head high and proud, and happy, no falling, no disgrace
The crowd gave him the greatest cheer for just finishing the race.
You would have thought he'd won the race to listen to the crowd.
"To me, you won," his father said, "You rose each time you fell."
The memory of that little boy should help us all in our race.
And all you have to do to win, is rise each time you fall.
But another voice within you will say, "Get up and win the race."
" When you find a dream inside your heart
don't ever let it go....
For dreams are the tiny seeds from which tomorrow's grown."
