Angel Dream
The Little Girl In The Park
The Three Angels
I dreamed I saw an angel;
His body bruised and battered
This angel could hardly walk,
I walked right up to him to ask;
He turned around and paused a (bit),
"I'm your Guardian Angel,
You've run amok most all your life:
These bruises are from shielding you
Those alcoholic bouts and drugs you've used
You see my wings are ripped and torn;
How often they have flown you
Each mark is it's own story
You made me wish--more than once-
If only you could make it
Oh, don't you fret or worry--
I could not believe all I had heard,
I wept upon his shoulder,
The next day I sat and pondered:
And in the distance I thought I heard;
ANGEL DREAM
Last night I had a dream;
It had a tale to tell.
Poor thing, he wasn't feeling well.
His wings were ripped and torn--
He looked so tired and worn.
Angel? How can this be?
Then he spoke these words to me:
A great task as you can see.
Look what it's done to me.
In times both dire and ill.
I've often paid the bill
A noble badge I wear;
From evils unaware.
Of deadly wounds destroyed.
That I was unemployed.
Standing on your own;
But please try to remember--
I'm getting old and frail.
Let alone how much he cared.
Then left him in despair.
Should I really try?
A frail old angel cry.

Just so happens the next day I decided to go back to the park,
in curiousity of if the lil' girl would still be there.
Right in the very spot as she was yesterday
she sat perched on high, with the saddest look in her eyes.
Today I was to make my own move and walk over to the lil' girl.
For as we all know a park full of strange people
is not a place for young children to play alone.
As I got closer I could see the back of the lil' girls dress was obscenly shaped.
I figured that was a reason the people just passed by and
made no effort to help.
Deformities was a low blow to our society and
so help you make a step toward assisting someone who is different.
As I got closer the lil' girl
slightly lowered her eyes to avoid my intent stare.
As I approched her,
I could see the obscene shape of her back more clearly.
Grotesquely shaped in a humped over form.
I smiled to let her know it was ok,
I was there to help, to talk.
I sat down beside her and opened with a simple Hello.
The lil' girl acted shocked and
stammered a hi after a long stare into my eyes.
I smiled and she shyly smiled back.
We talked till darkness fell and the park was completely empty.
Everyone was gone and we at once were alone.
I asked the girl why she was so sad.
The lil' girl looked at me and with a sad face said "Because i'm different".
I immediatly said "that you are!" and smiled.
The lil' girl acted even sadder, she said, "I know".
"Lil' girl", I said, "you remind me of an angel, sweet and innocent".
She looked at me and smiled, slowly she stood to her feet, and said. "Really?".
"Yes ma'am, your like a lil' guardian angel
sent to watch over all those people walking by".
She shook her head yes and smiled,
with that she spread her wings and said, "I am, I'm your guardian angel",
with a twinkle in her eye.
I was speechless sure i was seeing things.
She said, "for once you thought of someone other than yourself, my job here is done".
Immediatly I stood to my feet and said,
"wait, so why did no one stop to help an angel?".
She looked at me and smiled,
"Your the only one that could see me, you believe its in your heart".
And She was gone.
And with that my life was changed dramatically.
So, When you think your all you have,
remember, your angel is always watching over you.
I thought of that first angel dear
Who blessed me with his touch.
A bent old man, could hardly walk
He couldnt weigh too much.
His coat was torn and soiled.
His shoes had seen a better day.
He shuffled up the street in pain
His eyes a distant gray
The corner came and as he tried
To cross the boulevard
The cars zoomed by not giving ground
Nor letting up a yard..
I saw his plight and grabbed his arm
Flailing traffic to a halt. I guided him
And helped him safely cross.
He turned to me and spoke to me,
"Bless you my kind son.
With out you there I dont know what
I would have ever done."
I walked away with joy in heart
Remembering that twinkle in his eye
I thought that as the barde has said.
Not now, but there go I.
Another angel touched my life
This time a little child
She grabbed my index finger
And in a voice so mild
She asked if I would hold her hand
She feared the darkened room.
I took her hand and sang to her
A silly little tune
That once my mother sang to me
When in the night I tripped.
She went her way and out to play
And smiled as off she skipped.
Was I that angel?
Not at all, but someone might suspect
For twas through them that I was touched
My life in retrospect.
The cross that is the one I bear
Was gone. It was not there.
The weight of all my grief and pain
Had vanished in mid air.
Remember this, not all the time
The angel that you see
Came not in power and rushing wings
From heavenly realms that be.
But yet is sent from God above
To fill your heart with love.
To guide His children back to Him
For all eternity.
The third? You say? Where did it touch?
You say I mention only two.
Ahh, there you are. The other one.
Sweet angel, it is you.
